Thank you for visiting our website. Now we would love to meet you in person!
John Knox Presbyterian Church has a long history, a promising future, and an exciting
present. We invite you to browse these pages. Even more we invite you to come to a
worship service, a class, or an event, and see for yourself what JKPC is all about.
We are fully handicap accessible and have large print Bibles and Hymnals
available upon request.
Additionally housed in our lower level is the Campus Preschool Center, run by Interfaith
Campus Ministry.
We are a warm, welcoming congregation, but no matter how friendly and welcoming a church
is, visiting any church for the first time can be a little intimidating. You may be
wondering things like What are the worship services like? Where do I sit? What is expected
of me? Are my children welcome?
As you enter our church you will be welcomed by greeters. Ushers will hand you a worship
bulletin and will help you find a seat, if necessary. Sit wherever you like, there are
no reserved seats. We won't ask you to stand or wear a name tag or anything like that.
We do pass a record of attendance pad through each pew.
Our worship services are easy to follow by using the bulletin or screen, and they last
about an hour. Our services include scripture readings and prayers, the singing of songs,
some traditional and others contemporary, and special music from a choir in our early
service. After a brief children's message at the front steps, younger children may leave
to attend junior church during our second service. Our pastor will share a sermon, and
some Sundays communion will be served. In our church, communion is open and served to
all who have faith in Jesus Christ.
An offering is received each Sunday. We don't expect our guests to put anything in the
offering plate, though you are certainly welcome to do so. Our members and regular
attendees freely give to support our ministries.
Nursery care is available all morning.
New Member Classes Discovery Seminars are a time to answer questions about who we
are at JKPC, share the Christian faith, and talk with the pastor. New friendships can
develop here. This is a prerequisite for church membership. To indicate interest in
becoming a member, please mark the column in the attendance pad or let the pastor or church
office know by calling 330.494.9479.
Acts 16:5 So the churches were strengthened in the faith and grew daily in numbers.
