Pastor Doug to Retire
After almost 28 years as senior pastor of John Knox Presbyterian
Church, Rev. Douglas Patton announced his intention to retire
effective September 1, 2010. At a called meeting on
September 27, 2009, the congregation elected a six member
Pastor Nominating Committee to begin the search for a designated
pastor to replace Rev. Doug. To date, the PNC has gained
approval of the Church Information Form (CIF) it wrote which
describes John Knox Church as well as a description of the pastor
we believe God will send to us. This CIF has been posted on
the Presbyterian Church Christian Leadership web site.
Notice of our search has also been provided to 90 Purpose Driven
Churches, the Presbyterian Outlook and the Gordon-Conwell Seminary.
The PNC has begun the task of identifying the candidate pastor to be
called to our church.
The PNC has reviewed over 50 PIF's and has performed reference checks.
The list of candidates has been narrowed and telephone interviews with
the remaining candidates have been conducted.
