OPPORTUNITIES FOR DONATIONS
Shop, donate or volunteer at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore located at 4525 Cleveland Ave. NW.
Open to the public Tues - Fri 10:00 - 6:00 and Sat 10:00 - 4:00. Donate furniture, household
items and building materials in good, sellable condition. Items are sold at 50-90% off retail
prices and all proceeds fund the Habitat for Humanity building ministry in Canton. Shop often as
merchandise changes daily. To schedule a pick up for larger items call 330-493-0011. Visit their

Alpha
Alpha Series video on "Christianity: Boring, Untrue, and Irrelevant?" and discussion following. The gathering
will commence on January 8 at 6:00 and conclude by 8:00. There is a kick-off supper planned.
The series will take a break on February 5 (Super Bowl Sunday) and return on February 12 with a meal included.
This will be a great opportunity to connect with others and deepen relationships, as well as learn more about Christianity.
Bring your friends along. Please call if you plan to attend so food can be prepared.

A Day of Prayer and Fasting
The John Knox family is setting aside a day for prayer and fasting, so that we may pray
for John Knox, its ministries, leaders, programs, friends and members, and for the needs
in our community.
Prayer begins Saturday February 4 at 10:00am in the sanctuary continuing to Sunday, February
5 at 10:00am. Coffee and snacks will be available at 10:00am when you break your fast.
How to participate: Please sign up for a half hour time slot in the Narthex...our prayer
is that each slot will be taken, perhaps with multiple prayers.
The sanctuary will be open for prayer from Saturday, February 4 at 10:00am through
6:00pm.... and again Sunday morning from 8:00am on.
You may choose to pray in the sanctuary, in your home, or arrange gatherings with
others who would like to join you in a season of prayer.
Submit prayer requests to the office by February 3 or write your request/s on the sheet
at the sign up table, or fill out the prayer request form in your announcements and place
in the offering plate. Lists of those needing prayer will be provided in the sanctuary
and through an email blast February 3.
Suggestions for those who choose to fast will be available on the sign up table.
YOUTH OPPORTUNITIES
February 3-4 (Friday-Saturday)- The Fusion Weekend at Malone University. This opportunity
is for middle school and high school students. This event will consist of: worship music,
Biblical messages, games, fellowship, good food, and much fun. The cost will be $20
per person. A registration form and $20 is due Jan 18 so please let me know if you are
interested.

STUDY GROUP OPPORTUNITY
A new small-group study will begin on Monday, January 30th.at 10:00 a.m. in the Media
Center (Room 139) at John Knox Church. This one time per week study will last
approximately four to five weeks and is open to new members. The title of our study
will be Outlive Your Life by Max Lucado. For additional information, please

Some Teeny Tiny People Need Some Teeny Tiny Time
The JKPC Nursery has had as many as 7 children at one time during Services.
This ministry for the families is growing! What magnificent growing pains for a
church family! With additional nursery needs for our new Fall choir and music
format, we need your help with the little ones. The new nursery needs are:
2-volunteers to work with Keishla every Sunday 8:15am - 10:15am
2-volunteers to work with Keishla every Sunday 10:15am -12:15pm
1-volunteer to work with Keishla every Thursday 7pm-8:30pm
